Fair play

Fair play, in plain words.

Card players have heard every promise. Here is exactly what Qahwa does, and the limits we have not solved yet.

Fair play

Clean play. No stakes.

The things that ruin card apps, answered before you sit down.

  • Nothing sold wins

Coins and beans buy looks: card backs, frames, felts. Never cards, luck, rank or a stronger computer.

  • Computer players are labelled

Every computer seat wears a “Computer” chip. Quick match fills an empty seat only after 20 seconds, and always says so.

  • A deal you can check

Online tables seal the shuffle before the first card and reveal it at the end, so every phone checks its own hand.

  • No ads in your game

Nothing interrupts a hand. Ads, when on, are short videos you choose to watch for a reward, with a daily limit.

  • A person reads appeals

Bans are decided by a person. Appeal once from the app and get an answer within 24 hours.

  • No gambling

No real-money play, no stakes, nothing to cash out.

Nothing sold wins a game

Qahwa is free, and every game is unlocked. The shop sells looks and fun only.

  • For sale: card backs, avatar frames, table felts, VIP looks, stickers, and soon voice packs.
  • Never for sale: better cards, luck, a stronger or weaker computer, rank or rating points, or a seat at a better table.
  • There are no staked tables: you never bet coins or beans on a game.

Computer players are always labelled

  • Every computer seat shows a Computer chip, at every table.
  • Quick match looks for people for 20 seconds (your country first, then your region, then anyone) and only then fills the empty seats with computer players.
  • At a private table the host decides whether computer players take empty seats.
  • The computer only sees its own cards and is dealt from the same shuffle as everyone. Its level (Easy, Normal, Hard) is shown and never sold.

A deal you can check

Before the first card of an online game, the host's phone picks a secret shuffle and publishes only its fingerprint. The cards are dealt from that shuffle. When the game ends the shuffle is revealed, and every other phone re-deals it and checks that its own first hand is exactly the one it got.

What this proves: the deal was fixed before anyone played and was not changed during the game.

What it does not prove yet: the host's phone chooses the shuffle and sees every hand while it runs the table, so it cannot stop a host, or partners talking outside the app, from cheating. Only a referee on our servers can, and that is planned for ranked play. The app's fair-deal sheet says the same.

Quitters

  • If your connection drops, your quick-match seat is held for 90 seconds.
  • Leaving a quick-match table early starts a cool-down before you can queue again: 5 minutes, then 15, then an hour. It steps back down after a week without quitting.

Reports, bans and appeals

  • Tap any player to block, mute or report them. Public tables use ready phrases and stickers only; there is no free-text chat with strangers.
  • Bans and chat pauses are decided by a person, with a reason you can see in the app.
  • You can appeal each decision once from the app (Settings > Account). A person reads it and answers within 24 hours, in your mailbox.
  • You can also email support@playqahwa.com within 30 days with your Player ID.
  • Offline play is never affected by a ban.

Ads

No banner, pop-up or video ad ever interrupts a game. When ads are switched on, they are rewarded only: a short video you choose to watch for a reward shown up front, such as doubling your daily reward, with a daily limit. Rewards are virtual items, never money. Players under 13 never see ads.

No gambling

There is no real-money play in Qahwa. Coins and beans can't be cashed out or traded, and there are no tables where you stake them.
