Hand score calculator
Hand is a game of low scores, and the sheet gets long fast. Add each player's points after every round: tap -30 for the player who went out, -60 for a HAND and 100 for anyone who never opened, and the totals update on their own. After five rounds the lowest total wins. The sheet uses the Qahwa app's Hand scoring, takes 2 to 6 players and stays on your phone.

How the scoring works
How a round of Hand is scored
- The player who empties their hand scores -30.
- Going out in one turn without having opened before, laying at least 14 cards in new melds that turn, is a HAND: -60, and every other player's points for that round are doubled.
- Everyone else counts the cards left in hand: ace 11, jack, queen and king 10, the other cards their face value, and each joker 30.
- A player who never opened scores a flat 100 instead of counting cards.
Example: you go out (-30); a rival holding a king, a 7 and a 9 scores 10 + 7 + 9 = 26, and one who never opened scores 100. Had you gone out with a HAND, you would score -60 and they would score 52 and 200.
Who wins
Points add up over the rounds, and lower is better. After five rounds the lowest total wins, and players tied on the lowest total share the win. The app can also play 3 or 7 rounds, and you can pick those here.
Using the sheet
Choose how many people are playing (2 to 6) and type their names. After each round, type each player's points or tap a shortcut, then tap Add round. When someone makes a HAND, the sheet doubles the other players' points for you. Undo removes the last round; Clear starts a new game and keeps the names. In the Qahwa app, Hand is played by four.

Questions
How do you count points in Hand?
Add up the cards left in your hand: ace 11, jack, queen and king 10, the rest at face value, and 30 for each joker. The player who went out scores -30, a HAND scores -60, and a player who never opened scores 100.
What is a HAND in the Hand card game?
Going out in a single turn without having opened before, laying at least 14 cards in new melds. It scores -60 and doubles everyone else's points for that round.
Who wins a game of Hand?
The player with the lowest total after the last round, usually the fifth. Players tied on the lowest total share the win.
How many points do you need to open in Hand?
Your first lay-down must total at least 51 points. The sheet doesn't need that number, but it is the rule that decides who has opened.
Can I use this sheet for Hand Saudi?
Yes. Hand Saudi only changes the opening (each opening must beat the last one by at least a point); the round scores are the same.
